Switch Performing Arts is happy to announce the beginning of our new drama program. Headed up by the program director Todd Durrance. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience, and fresh ideas.
Beginning January 1st 2012 our drama schedule will be the following:

Tues - Acting 101 for Teens (the basics) - ages - 12-18
(This class is the place to start for students who are serious about learning the craft of acting. Students will learn the basic building block of acting, creating a believable character as well as voice projection, body positions and working with a script.)

Wed - Stage Basics: Acting for 'Tweens - ages - 9-11
( Students in this developmental group are beginning to understand the relationship between actor and audience. This class will teach them the skill necessary for future success on stage. Basic theatre terminology, stage positions and ensemble techniques are taught in a fun, non-competitive setting.)

Thurs - Laughing Wild: Improv comedy - ages - 12-18 (Improvisation is an important skill in acting. This class will focus on improvisation as a tool for exploring comedic character, comic timing, mime and the basic rules or improv comedy. You’ve seen the show “Who’s Line Is It Anyway” now come learn the skills that make you laugh…)

All class will be from 3:45pm to 5:45pm blocked in 8 week sessions. The cost of each session will be
$160 ($10 per hr).
